7 minutes ahead

He discovered it accidentally after buying the previous model iPhone.

He was testing his new phone camera when he pointed it at the micraowave. The microwave showed 8:42.

The clock above it showed 8:35.

He assumed something was wrong with the display.

Seven minutes later, the microwave read 8:42.

He frozed.

He pointed the camera at his empty kitchen table.

On his phone screen, there was a glass of water sitting there.

The actual table was empty.

Curious, he walked to the sink, filled a glass and placed it on the table.

Then he looked at the clock.

Exactly seven minutes had passed.

For the next hour, he experimented.

A coin toss.

A message arriving.

Water boiling.

Every time, the camera showed what would happen exactly 7 minutes later

Eventually, amused by the whole thing, he turned the camera toward himself.(I shd have wokeup by now)

His smile disappeared.

On the screen, he was lying beside his bed.

Motionless.

Blood ran from beneath his head.

The clock behind him showed 12:14.

He looked at the real clock.

12:07.

Seven minutes.

He locked the door.

Checked the windows.

Nobody else was inside.

Six minutes.

He unplugged everything electrical.

Five.

He moved away from the balcony.

Four.

Then he looked at the image again and noticed something.

His future self was holding the phone.

The same phone he was holding now.

Three minutes.

His hands began shaking.

β€œIf I just don't stand there,” he whispered, β€œit can't happen.”

Two minutes.

He sat in the middle of the room and refused to move.

Then the image on the phone changed.

His future self opened his eyes.

He almost dropped the phone.

The man on the screen slowly lifted his head and looked directly through the camera at him.

One minute.

His future self's lips moved.

No sound came through.

He brought the phone closer, trying to read them.

Thirty seconds.

This time he understood.

PUT THE PHONE DOWN.

He stared.

His future self suddenly began screaming, pointing desperately at something behind the camera.

Ten seconds.

He turned around.

Nothing.

Five.

Four.

Three.

He looked back at the phone.

The screen no longer showed the future.

It showed his bedroom exactly as it was now.

Except he wasn't in it.

Someone else was holding the phone.
